We moved into the house JULY 2017 and I FINALLY feel like it’s coming together. It took a lot of trial and error, but the house finally feels cohesive and finished. Since July we have completely remodeled the kitchen and bathroom. We repainted the exterior and every inch of the home. Next up, relandscaping the front and back yard! I put together a before and after to show the progress we are making!
KITCHEN
We completely gutted the entire thing, knocking down two walls, the existing island and all the cabinets. We basically started from scratch. I must say, demo is one of my favorite things in the whole world. Doing it yourself is super easy (you can’t really mess it up) and makes the entire remodeling process much more affordable.
We hired a contractor to install new cabinets, quartz counter tops, new plumbing, and new lighting We did the open shelving, exposed the beam, and the backsplash ourselves. Figuring out the parts of a remodel you can do yourself save you SO much money in the long run. See my tutorials on how we did the backsplash and open shelving!
Drumroll… Here’s the kitchen now!
DINING ROOM
We painted the walls, added a hanging chandelier, accents to the wall and a new table and benches to take up the space.
The only major project in the dining room was these benches. We made them ourselves! See the tutorial and all details of the dining room HERE.
LIVING ROOM
In the living room we added a shiplap accent wall and painted the fireplace white! See my shiplap tutorial HERE.
In the living room we painted the walls, and added curtains. It’s crazy what a difference curtains can make!
BATHROOM
The bathroom was the first remodel we did entirely ourselves! We gutted the entire thing. Added new floors, new shower, new tile & shiplap walls, and all new accessories and furniture. You can see the entire bathroom transformation (Including full tutorials) on my post HERE.
